We have heard a lot about ransomware over the past couple of years, and believe it or not, what we have heard to date is only just the beginning. According to a report by Commvault, approximately 50% of organizations have been hit by ransomware at least once in 12 months.

While there is not one specific target for these attackers, financial services, and the healthcare sector have been hit the most. The sectors continue to be primary targets as most hackers are aiming for money and the personal data to use for their purposes.
